Holy Basil, or Tulsi has been used as a medicinal herb in Ayurveda for thousands of years. It is one of the most sacred herbs in India; it has been used to treat many different illnesses and for promoting longevity. It has been called “Queen of the herbs” and the Hindi name, Tulsi translates from to “The incomparable one”. Holy basil is native to southeast Asia but is now found in most tropical places.
There are six varieties of holy basil, our Spagyric is Holy Basil, Rama. Which is said to be the highest in medicinal compounds. Holy basil is an excellent source of vitamin A and C but it is especially high in vitamin K. It is also recognized as a powerful anti-oxidant.
